Ultrasound-Guided Injection Clinic

Overview

At SpineOne, our Ultrasound-Guided Injection Clinic provides precise, minimally invasive treatments for joint, spine, and soft-tissue pain. Using real-time ultrasound imaging, our physicians deliver targeted injections and procedures designed to reduce pain, decrease inflammation, and improve mobility — without surgery whenever possible.

These treatments are commonly used for conditions such as arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, and other musculoskeletal disorders affecting the shoulder, hip, knee, spine, wrist, and ankle.

Nonsurgical Pain Management

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at SpineOne focuses on nonsurgical solutions. Our physicians are highly trained in image-guided procedures that allow for accurate treatment while minimizing risk and recovery time.

Ultrasound guidance allows us to visualize the joint or soft tissue in real time, ensuring precise placement of medication and improved treatment outcomes.

Treatment Options

Corticosteroid Injections
Corticosteroid injections are commonly used to reduce pain and inflammation in joints and surrounding soft tissues. These injections typically contain a combination of corticosteroid medication and a local anesthetic.

They may be performed in the shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, wrist, ankle, spine, and small joints of the hands or feet. Most patients experience minimal downtime and a quick return to normal activity.

Hyaluronic Acid Injections (Viscosupplementation)

Hyaluronic acid injections are used to treat osteoarthritis when other treatments have not provided adequate relief.

This medication closely resembles the natural fluid found in healthy joints. It helps lubricate the joint, reduce inflammation, and improve joint movement. Common brand names include Synvisc-One, Orthovisc, and Euflexxa.

Joint Aspiration

When excess fluid accumulates in or around a joint, aspiration may be recommended to relieve pressure and reduce pain.

Using ultrasound guidance, the physician inserts a needle into the affected area and removes the excess fluid. In many cases, aspiration and a corticosteroid injection can be performed during the same visit.

What to Expect

Ultrasound-guided procedures are typically performed on an outpatient basis and require little recovery time. Most patients are able to resume normal activities shortly after treatment.

At SpineOne, our goal is to provide accurate diagnosis, targeted treatment, and coordinated care to help you return to function and avoid unnecessary surgery.
